A warning about turkey gravy

Just so we are all on the same page: if you mix too much cornstarch in with your turkey drippings, you will get a gravy that is closer in consistency to smooth porridge. Perhaps I can use this to spackle my bathtub. Gluten-free, turkey and sage flavoured spackle.

Other than that disaster, my turkey dinner shaped up well.

  1. Personally not a big fan of using corn starch for my gravies. They have a greater tendency of breaking on you. I’m sure you have, but have you tried using flour instead? Just make sure you cook out the flour taste for about ten minutes and it’ll give you a much better gravy, and if you get porridge again you can just add stock or water if you must to bring it back to gravy consistency.

  2. And I just realized why you wouldn’t use flour….silly me, gluten free.
